PLATE -TANGANYIKA TRADING

Tanganyika Trading deals in larger parcels (or single pieces) of rough gemstones aimed
at the dealer/cutter. They also trade in all types of Africana and all things African.
The parcels of rough are direct from the mine to the buyer. Some rough grading and
cleaning has been done but not to the degree as those stones from African Gemstones.

All parcels purchased will only be sent by Fedex due to the value, and, any parcels not
suitable to the buyer must be returned to Tanganyika Trading in a similar manner.
Payments, by cheque or similar, are to be made out to Tanganyika Trading, otherwise
payments to African Gemstones are also acceptable.
Banking details will appear on your invoice.

PLEASE NOTE - colors shown on laptops, apart from Apple computers, are not accurate. We would advise you to view all colors of gemstones on a desk computer which appears to show more accurate colors.

Photos - all our stones are photographed in daylight, on a white background but allowing some natural light to penetrate from behind to show you the true color. No special effects are used to enhance the stones

PERIDOT

Once again, we have some more of this superb Peridot in from China. I cannot find any other Peridot on the web to compare with this quality and price. The material is remarkably clean, and I have yet to find any 'veils' like those seen in the Pakistan material. To be on the safe side, I have priced the rough as AA+ grade as Peridot is notoriously difficult to grade in the rough, but I am sure you will agree that it is definitely closer to an AAA grade. Practically, the only inclusion I have noted were some small black crystals. The color is a strong, saturated green with a touch of yellow and the rough looks great in artificial light. The stones are all very well shaped and the large pieces are real stunners!!

Demantoid Garnet - Ref. DEM-1

A very attractive parcel of Demantoid Garnets, the origin being Namibia and Madagascar.
These stones have been selected over the past year and average around AA-AA+ in grade
Now, please remember, the Demantoids from Namibia are NOT the same as the Chrome Demantoids from Russia.
The Namibian stones are, on the whole much larger in size and show a yellow-green color - and they have no 'horsetail' inclusions
Demantoids show a very high refractive index of around 1.88, and a very high dispersion. In other words, these stones rock!!
