Moonstone - Tanzania - Ref MS
We have a great new selection of the very popular Moonstone from Tanzania. This material has been in very short
supply for
nearly a year now and the very large pieces just are not being found.
But, we do have a little stock again, even if they are the smaller pieces.

Please note - If you are viewing the website using a laptop computer, (apart from the Apple laptop), the colors
portrayed are very poor. I have found this to be the norm after checking numerous lap tops. The older desktop
screens still seem to give the most accurate colors, so, when ordering, please read the descriptions of the stones.
It will help you somewhat with the colors and your decisions regarding purchase.

Spectrolite(?) Moonstone - Tanzania - Ref SP
A totally new Feldspar has arrived from Tanzania. Very similar to the Moonstone in looks, but this material shows characteristics of Spectrolite (a variety of the Plagioclase Felspar). However, unlike Spectrolite, this new material is clear and exhibits numerous colors, mainly blue, purple and red flashes, many in the same stone. I am not too sure what to classify this material as, 'Rainbow" Moonstone, or Spectrolite Moonstone. I have not yet done any tests on it.
It has also been the worst stone I have ever tried to photograph and I have found it virtually impossible to capture all the numerous subtle colors, thus, when you look at a stone, the blue color may be the dominant color, but, orientate the stone slightly and a pink-yellow color may appear. I apologize for this - if there is a photographer out there who has experience in photographing this material, I would love to hear from him/her.

Emerald Ref MZ-1
This very unusual stone measures 30mm in length, 20mm at its maximum width and 8.5 mm thick. It was found in the Marropino district of Mozambique and was one of the largest stones found in that area.
It shows a medium-light green color, a little similar to the Columbian stones.
Veils of bubbles are visible and one fracture roughly 2/3 down the side of the stone. I would suggest cutting one really large gem and possibly, two smaller stones The
