Please
note - If you are viewing the

the colors
portrayed are very poor. I have found this to be the norm

screens still seem to give the most accurate colors, so,
when ordering, please read the descriptions of the stones.
It will help you somewhat with the colors and your decisions
regarding purchase.
Cutter - Barry Bridgestock
There are some really superb gems on this plate. Please
take note of the bi-colors, they are impressive gems. Some
of the nodules can be orientated so that you can cut a gem
showing, not only the green and the pink colors, but also
the yellow color which is seen down the 'C' axis. But, leave
the cutting to a professional if you are not too sure how
to orientate the stone.
A
pretty selection of larger Tourmalines from 15 cts and up
in size. Tourmalines are in very short supply and prices
have risen considerably. Most of this is due to the devaluation
of the US$ as well as increases in mining costs and fuel
prices.
Please note that many of the green Mozambique Tourmalines
do show a semi-open 'C' axis. That means they are not completely
'black' when viewed down the "C" axis ( the end
of the stone) but do allow some light to penetrate. The
color is usually a medium to darker tone of yellow-green
or green.

purchase.
For
many years we have not been able to find a good source for Iolite.
Most of the material from Zimbabwe and Tanzania, although a good
color, was rather small and heavily included. Recently we managed
to get this superb parcel of Indian Iolite. Not only are the stones
of excellent color with very few inclusions, they have all been
roughly cut to show the best color orientation. And just look at
the sizes - this rough will cut a decent sized gem!
