Apart from some of the deep blue Aquamarines, this material is all from the 'Green Walking Stick' mine which operated in Zimbabwe, for a short period of time in the early 1960's. The mine was unique in that it was the only deposit known which produced predominantly deep, rich gold to strong yellow-gold colors. I don't think, even to this day, there is any other deposit in the world which can compare to the "Green Walking Stick"rough. The well-known geologist, Bob Contat, was the original owner of the mine (he also discovered the famous "Sandawana Emerald" deposit, also found in Zimbabwe). We were lucky in being able to purchase the entire remaining stock Bob had kept.
All the rough shows some very definite "etching" on the surface of the crystals and fine 'silk' which is usually fine gas lined, parallel to the 'C' axis. Other notable inclusions are veils. The rough is basically a semi-facet to cab grade quality and will yield some really attractive - and unique- cut gems, whether faceted or cabbed.

A pretty selection of slightly imperfect Tourmalines, all which are graded "AA". Now this means that the stone has some very slight inclusions, but the resultant cut gem will be definitely 'eye-clean' or better!! The stones are extremely reasonable in price and is fast becoming a very popular item. Nearly all the stones have been tumbled-polished - and this will help you in determine where the faults are. Please note how well the stones have been selected for shape!
